Silent auction for the 2024 fête

New for the 2024 Bellingdon and Asheridge Village Fête, we’re running a silent auction where you can bid for some incredible items (via email to fetesilentauction@gmail.com or at the fête itself).

We’re lucky enough to have been given three amazing donations for you to bid on:

1. A pair of ice skates, signed by Olympic gold medal winners and Dancing on Ice judges Torvill and Dean, courtesy of ITV Studios.

2. Two audience tickets to the Pinewood Studios recording of any episode of Taskmaster series 19 in September 2024, courtesy of Avalon UK.

3. A morning of trout fly fishing at the members-only Latimer Park Trout Lake with instruction. Tackle and picnic lunch included.

You can place your bids via email now: fetesilentauction@gmail.com or in person at the raffle stall at the fête on Saturday 29th June. When we close the bidding at 4pm on the day, the highest bid for each item wins!

There’s nothing to pay unless you win your item, so just let us know how much you would like to bid.

To find out more, or to place a bid, email fetesilentauction@gmail.com or come and see us at the fête. The lucky winners will be announced after the raffle has been drawn.

Also: Don’t forget you can buy your raffle tickets online ahead of the fête!

Cricketers wanted!

Our local cricket club, Hawridge & Cholesbury, is looking for cricketers of all ages to join them this season. We run All Stars (5-7) and Dynamos (8-11) groups on a Saturday morning, older groups train on a Thursday evening and we have Saturday and Sunday adult sides.

Even if you wouldn’t know one end of a cricket bat from another, everyone is welcome to become a social member of the club (£15 for the season) which entitles you to use the bar when it is open. We’re always on the lookout for coaches, scorers and umpires to help our small village club to thrive.

Our ethos is one of community, having a go and enjoying ourselves – we are run by our members for our members, so everyone pitches in and gets involved. We have working parties during the season to maintain the facilities and we try to be an integral part of the local area.

If you’re interested in finding out more please do contact the club secretary, Helen Valvona, on secretary@hawridgecricket.co.uk

Can you help?

Planning for this year’s Bellingdon and Asheridge Village fete is well underway, and we’d really love your help to make it a fun day to remember for the whole family.

All we need is a few hours of your time on Saturday 29th June.

There are all sorts of things you could help us with:

  • Running one of the many great game stalls we’ll have for children (of all ages)
  • Serving teas and delicious home-made cakes
  • Helping with our barbecue and drinks bar
  • Selling books and bric-a-brac
  • And more

Just reply to fete@bellingdon.com if you’d like to find out more.

Thank you!
From Paul and the whole fete team
