Bucks County Council are currently conducting an online survey of residents’ and organisations’ views on the proposals to form one or more unitary authorities in the county.
There is a reasonable consensus that Bucks residents would benefit from a move to unitary authorities which combine the roles of County and District councils into one level of local authority.
The question remains however: would residents be better served by two Unitary Authorities – one based in the North of the county and one in the South – or by one county-wide authority? (In a 2 unitary authority solution, Chiltern District would fall in the South along with South Bucks and Wycombe Districts.)
The survey, being conducted on behalf of Bucks CC, is available here: http://futurebucks.co.uk/yourviews/ and is open until May 19th.
It’s not a referendum… but it is a opportunity to let your views be known!
