Snow information from TfB

Current position/forecast regarding potential snowfall in Buckinghamshire today is as follows:

Snow this morning is unlikely. Rain is forecast from lunchtime which may impact our treatment of secondary routes (good salt levels already down on primaries). Temperatures will drop during this rain which is forecast to turn to sleet at around 5pm and then snow at 7pm which will continue through the evening. Levels and intensities are still somewhat unpredictable.

We’re keeping a close eye on Thursday’s forecast which shows potential for some significant snow, but may change.

Gritter operators will be busy throughout the week. Shift patterns of drivers and depot staff have been adjusted to accommodate.

The main risk at present is that sleet and snow starts to come in a little faster than forecast, which could mean snowfall during an early rush hour combined with school run, impacting our ability to maintain the network.

Keep a close eye on forecasts and conditions and ensure today’s journey home is completed prior to snowfall wherever possible.
